CHARLIE AINSWORTH: The feature film we’re making is called “The Road South.” It is about a Deaf mortician. When her grandmother dies, her family requests her to do the embalming but this hearing family had never really signed or communicated with her. She feels disconnected and struggles with this huge burden to embalm her grandmother while they never had a conversational relationship.
