#1 Deaflympics Recap

A herd of Bison was spotted in Tokyo! Many Gallaudet alumni, students, and staff were part of the 2025 Deaflympics. Check out this summary of Bison who competed for the USA Deaf Sports Federation.

#2 Bringing Gallaudet’s families into the fold

The parents and families of Gallaudet students are part of our community, too! Family Engagement Coordinator Jesse Saunders uses his experience as an alum, faculty member, and father to strengthen connections for families.

#3 LBM Site Dedication

In 2026, construction will start on the Louise B. Miller Pathways and Gardens. The success of the project, which will honor Black Deaf children, is due to the effort of dedicated Gallaudet staff.

#4 Q/A with Fulbright Distinguished Scholar, Teresa Blankmeyer Burke

Dr. Teresa Blankmeyer Burke received a prestigious Fulbright Distinguished Scholar award! She’s now spending four months in Brazil to research the ethics of AI and biotechnology.

#5 Making the case: Gallaudet experts featured at first panel dedicated to Deaf people and criminal justice at national conference

Five Gallaudet professors took part in the recent American Society of Criminology (ASC) Annual Meeting. They advocated for the rights of deaf and hard of hearing people in the legal system.
