Sophomore Hiruni Hewapathiranage-Mayadunne chose Gallaudet because here, she doesn’t have to spend energy figuring out access; she can focus fully on learning, growing, and leading.
As a Biology and Public Health major, she’s fascinated by how the human body works and how communities shape health outcomes. She’s also inspired by how ASL STEM signs evolve in real time, shaped by Deaf thinkers in the classroom.
When students can learn without limits, they become the ones who move STEM forward.
