Rodrigo Uresti didn’t just dream about leadership. He lived it!
At Gallaudet, he became Graduate Student Association President, studied at Georgetown, and explored global issues across Europe. With Gallaudet’s support, Rodrigo landed the White House internship he had been chasing for years.
Today, Rodrigo is a changemaker in government, building bridges between the American people and the President. His journey started with one powerful decision: to choose Gallaudet.

Transcript: Why Gallaudet? The world of politics is the beating heart of Washington D.C., an inspiring city full of possibilities. I am involved in the government, serving the American people. Through the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, I had the opportunity to enroll in courses at Georgetown University. Here at Gallaudet, I was part of the Graduate Student Association and later became its President. I see myself as an advocate and a leader. This experience taught me what it truly means to be a leader. Before Gallaudet, I applied to the White House internship program several times without success. But with Gallaudet’s network and support system, I finally had the opportunity to intern at the White House! In my current role, I help connect the American people directly with the President. I see myself as a proactive leader, driven by the goal of making the world a better place. That is why I chose to study International Development. Gallaudet opened the doors for me to think globally. I traveled to Europe, met with diplomats, and learned firsthand about global issues. I want to continue this journey and make a lasting impact on the world. Gallaudet gave me confidence, opportunities, and a strong network. I know the future is bright and I am ready to lead to positive change!
