American culture often treats money like a topic that we should not discuss in public or outside of our families. So much value is placed on financial success and security, that when people experience difficulties related to money, they may see it as a personal failure and something to be ashamed of.

If there is one takeaway from this video, should be that there is ZERO shame in asking for help while dealing with financial issues. This is not necessarily about asking for money, but about asking for guidance in dealing with finances.
