Hailing from Virginia, Tika Wallace is earning her B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Black Deaf Studies from Gallaudet University!

Tika’s time at Gallaudet was filled with moments that deeply shaped her perspective — like diving into a course on the Black Deaf experience taught by a Black Deaf professor, and exploring the wide range of identities in her Psychology and Deaf People class.

She shared space with Deaf students from both hearing and Deaf families and walked away with a deeper understanding of community, identity, and connection.

Now, Tika is heading into her next adventure with insight, purpose, and pride. Let’s give her a grand send-off!

There were two hearing students, including me. Seeing all the different experiences and backgrounds and learning from that really impacted me.
