We’re proud to share the result of an amazing partnership between Gallaudet University and Coca-Cola: a brand-new ASL name sign inspired by the iconic Coca-Cola ribbon. This year-long collaboration celebrates Deaf culture, identity, and inclusive storytelling—culminating in a reimagined ASL version of Coca-Cola’s iconic campaign video.

We’ve been working on something super exciting—today, we finally get to share it.
[ZANIBELLE – Signing]
Over the past year, we teamed up with Coca-Cola to create a brand-new ASL name sign.
[NATASHA – Signing]
New name sign, what? (show sign)
Easy to use, rooted in our culture, and inspired by Coca-Cola’s iconic ribbon.
[ZANIBELLE – Signing]
This was a full journey:
eight months of linguistic research, international community feedback, surveys, and real collaboration with Coca-Cola’s team.

Led by Deaf students right here at Gallaudet, under Storm Smith's leadership who is Storytelling Director at University Communications through collaboration with University Communications—where we help global brands connect with the Deaf community in authentic, inclusive ways.
[ZANIBELLE – Signing]
We’re excited that the new name sign will be part of a Coca-Cola campaign—their famous hilltop commercial, reimagined in ASL.
A moment that celebrates our language, identity, and belonging.
