Our friend Jerome and we hiked 11.2 miles inside a volcano in Maui, and it felt like walking on another planet.
The Sliding Sands Trail in Haleakalā National Park takes you deep into the crater through massive cinder cones, lava rock, and unreal landscapes that don’t even feel like Hawaii. This was one of the most unique hikes we’ve ever done on Maui.
