This is the Deaf Geek's book review of Terry Pratchett's "Guards! Guards," the first book in the "City Watch" sub-series of "Discworld." In this review, I briefly go over the main characters and setting before delving into the plot, its themes, and my overall impression of the novel itself.

Please note that "Guards! Guards!" is NOT the first book in the Discworld series (it's actually the eighth book), but it is the first "Discworld" book that I read, hence it being the subject of "Episode 1" of my Discworld book review series.
