Antoine Hunter, a Deaf California man who is a skilled dancer, speaker, and advocate, performed the National Anthem and the Black Anthem during the Pro Bowl on Feb. 3 in San Francisco, but it was not shown on television.

Hunter said in a message to “The Daily Moth” that his story became like other Deafies’ story, in that he’s yet another ASL performer who is not shown on TV. He said the broadcast focused on the hearing singer and that it’s still happening in 2026.

He posted a video reel that showed he was in a PIP on the big screen in the venue.

Hunter said although he has mixed feelings, he still feels honored. He said Deaf people are making incredible history during Super Bowl and we should focus on that joy, our amazing joy together.

Thank you for sharing this, Antoine Hunter.

In separate news, he said there’s a “BIPOC Deaf & Deaf Art Gallery Exhibition” curated by him at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, California. There will be a few events in the next few weeks. You can find more information in the link below.
