The CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting) — a private, nonprofit organization that has received federal funding from Congress since the 1970s, which is distributed to fund NPR (National Public Radio) and PBS. It’s on television, the free channel that usually covers government, news, and children’s programs. The CPB’s board recently voted to dissolve itself. 

Why? The CPB is no longer receiving any federal funding. Congress decided to rescind and discontinue the funding. Congress was urged by President Trump, who encouraged Congress to stop the funding. Trump feels that the CPB/NPR/PBS are biased against him.
