(why it makes sense): Daniel 9:25-27 points to one continuous 7-year “week.” • 29 C.E. Jesus is anointed (baptized) and begins preaching = “Messiah arrives.” • 33 C.E. Jesus is “cut off” (killed) in the middle of the week (3½ years after 29). • 36 C.E. The “70 weeks” end when the good news opens to Gentiles (Acts 10), so the special period to Israel ends. Key idea: No “gap” is needed—one timeline fits the text.
