Jesus was resurrected on “the first day of the week”—what we call Sunday. The Gospels say that when the women came to the tomb early on the first day of the week, it was already empty because he had been raised (see Matthew 28:1–6; Mark 16:2–6; Luke 24:1–6; John 20:1)
