Interpreter follows content

On a cruise, nobody knows ahead of time who the comedian will be or what kind of jokes they’ll use. The Deaf group can’t plan for that, and they can’t predict if the N-word will show up or how it will be used. So in situations like this, the interpreter has to follow the content, intent, and meaning in the moment. That’s the only thing anyone can do when the show isn’t planned for us.
