In June of 1991, we gathered for the CSDR graduation. Leonard Gonzales Jr. stood proudly as the valedictorian, and Bobby Jacobs delivered the salutatorian address. I was just sixteen when I walked across that stage to receive my diploma. As I looked out into the crowd, I saw my mom and the rest of my family—my heroes—whose love and support carried me to that moment.
