A Prayer for Serge is a poem about the passing of our good friend and wonderful Deaf poet, Serge Briere from Quebec. This piece was inspired by the poetry of the Romanian writer Constantin Abaluta. Kenny and Peter attempted to translate his poem "The Intruder" into ASL at the 2005 Poetry International Festival in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Their translation went so far off of Abaluta's original that it became a new poem in and of itself. Despite this, Abaluta graciously accepted the work and so today we dedicate it to him.
