How do you know if your sin is forgiven? First, you recognized your sin (breaking the law in 1Jn 3:4), then you go to the Messiah (high priest and confess your sins) and what happen? What do you mean? Did you really ask Him to forgive your sin? Oh, you mean you are required to "SEE" if the Messiah come to you and said, "You are forgiving, done." No! It is simple, you are justified by faith (without see HIM).
