Okay, let’s talk about epidurals.
I had one with my first, even though I initially planned not to—not because I wanted an unmedicated birth, but because I was scared of the epidural itself. HOWEVER, I ended up LOVING it. It didn’t hurt going in, and I actually enjoyed my labor. The same was true for this birth—once I got the epidural, everything was more enjoyable, and the experience was amazing!
There’s a lot of stigma around getting an epidural, as if choosing one makes you weak or means your birth isn’t “natural” anymore—as if you’ve somehow failed. But the truth is, you are strong no matter how your baby enters the world. Birth is freaking wild, and every mom should be proud of what her body has done, no matter what that journey looks like!
