Every one should have an emergency plan ready, do you have one? #FactFriday #NADFact #PreparedNotScared #BeReady

[VIDEO DESC & TRANSCRIPT: Black and white video of Neil standing.

NEIL: Today we will talk about planning for yourself, your family, and friends. One of the most important thing to do when planning is to ask ourselves, ""what are we planning for?"" For example, hurricanes are different than tornadoes -- so understanding what you're planning for will help you choose which supplies you would need. Maybe you should focus on making sure you have more food and water to use at home during an emergency. Or maybe you should pack things in a simple box that can be taken quickly when you're in a rush. The final part in planning is to figure out where you will go if you need to evacuate. Do you have a plan in place for when you have to go over a friend's home or at a family member's home? You don't want to figure that out during an emergency. Emergency preparedness planning is truly important for you and your family.

Video fades to a soft grey background with several different font types showing "NAD" in dark grey very quickly. Copyright video ends with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) logo centered.]
