Why not VSDB instead of MSSD?

I raised in VA all my life, the reason why my parent chose MSSD (Washington DC). At my time we had two deaf schools in VA, VSDB(Staunton, VA) and VSDB (Hampton, VA shut down in 2007) is because all hearing parents of deaf child were concerned about me high priority than 3 white deaf students.
