Deafhood 101

GUTHRIE AND CHAD: Hi!

GUTHRIE NUTTER: I'm Guthrie Nutter, Oregon ASLTA President.

CHAD LUDWIG: And I'm Chad Ludwig, Oregon Association of the Deaf President.

GUTHRIE NUTTER: This question goes out to those of you who are Deaf or Deafblind. Do you have deep questions about who you are and your journey as a Deaf person? How you interact with other Deaf people, and negotiate the hearing world? How you handle barriers, frustrations, and struggles? How you strive to understand this internal struggle?

Now there is a great opportunity to join a workshop that will look deeply into these important questions. Let's hear the details from Chad.

CHAD LUDWIG: This workshop will be held February 25 to 28, Thursday through Sunday. Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It will be held at PCC, Sylvania Campus.

In all this will include 20 hours of training Thursday through Sunday, which is incredible and worthwhile. The cost is $175 per person and seating is limited to only 16 registrants. It won't be long before the workshop fills up.

GUTHRIE NUTTER: The name of the workshop is Deafhood Workshop: Deafhood 101 and we expect it to be powerful. We understand that $175 for the registration fee may feel like a lot for you. However, remember those deep questions you have, the questions of how to manage relations, the frustrations, the conflicts in your life? Would you like to be able to make better decisions? This workshop will be very powerful and will give you the tools you need to help you navigate your way to a stronger future.

Consider it an investment. You will invest in your heart and mind and come out better able to make decisions on the other side. You will have a strong Deaf identity. We look forward to seeing you there.

CHAD LUDWIG: Please visit our website at Link . Register now to reserve your seat. We will see you there!
