HOWARD: Hi. For this month's Ask Howard Anything, I will share what I tend to do when I'm not working. Although I don't really have much free time but with what free time I do have, I do enjoy watching any Chicago sports teams. Especially... GO CUBS! Besides supporting the Chicago sports teams, I also enjoy watching TV and movies. I'm thrilled Netflix has captioned 100% of their streaming content! I look forward to when other streaming companies to the same and when ALL companies have captions for ALL their content. Finally, I also love to travel! While most of my trips are work related, I try to find time to explore. For example, last summer I went to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Congress in Istanbul, Turkey. It was a great experience to explore Istanbul for a week, meet many other people from all over the world. I enjoy learning different sign languages. I also appreciated trying different food during the trip. After Turkey, I went to Greece. I enjoyed experiencing their culture and delicious food. In fact, even though Turkey and Greece are near each other -- they're so different from each other! Their food, sign language, and everything else is so different. I'm also so fascinated with meeting deaf people from all over the world. Its true, while we may come from different countries, we have more things in common than you would think. We usually want the same things, our goals are the same, we want access, we want sign language to be recognized, interpreters are important to have, we want equality in the work force, we want top quality education, we all dream the same. It is always an enjoyable time for me when I meet a person from another country. Anyway, that's what I do when I'm not working. See you next month!
