Language has always been a weapon—and a wound. Words can heal, or they can destroy. For centuries, marginalized communities—including Deaf people—have been labeled with words meant to humiliate, silence, and control them. Yet through resistance, education, and cultural pride, many of these very words have been reclaimed and reborn as symbols of identity and empowerment.
