Synopsis: Adrean Clark (a white Deaf woman wearing a black shirt) explores the factors that influence Deaf artists' sense of self-worth. It begins in the childhood training of following the expectations of hearing society. Organizations and businesses take advantage of that emotional scaffolding by using statements designed to force artists into following the group's self-serving goal at little to no cost. Adrean encourages the Deaf artist community to self-determine the value of their work, since they fulfill an essential role in the community that is often underappreciated.
