Region II Representatives Richard and Linsay share an update!

LINSAY and RICHARD: Hi there!

RICHARD: My name is Richard McCowin and I am the Region II Representative for 2014-2018.

LINSAY: And Iâ€™m Linsay Darnall, Jr., your newest representative for 2016-2020.

RICHARD: Many of you have news and events that have happened in your states such as North Dakota, they just celebrated their 100th anniversary!

LINSAY and RICHARD: Congratulations!

LINSAY: And Kansas, they are the first state in Region II to pass the LEAD-K bill! They will be receiving an award for their hard work. Congratulations.

RICHARD: We have monthly VP meetings for all Region II State Associations in order to address the various issues that happen in individual states. We meet on the first Sunday of every month. We just had our first one recently and we look forward to more.

LINSAY: As you can see, weâ€™re in the NAD Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. We visited the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) and Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) â€“ it was a great experience to meet the students and interact with them.

RICHARD: Back at Headquarters, we discussed the five priorities and the committees. Weâ€™ll share further updates soon.

LINSAY: For those of you who signed up your interest to join a committee, get ready to work! Weâ€™re excited to work with you.
