Genesis 18 says “Jehovah appeared,” but John 1:18 shows no one has seen God. Abraham saw Jehovah’s messenger — the angel with God’s authority, like in Exodus 23:21 (“My name is in him”). That’s why the angel could speak as Jehovah.
