Are you ready for the Junior NAD Conference in Florida this November?! Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) Jr. NAD members announce the conference theme. Link

Video description and Transcript:

Video begins with an image of Jr. NAD logo on a shirt with the person wearing it, posing like a super hero. Jr. NAD member Dante Townsend appears and signs the Jr. NAD Conference theme in American Sign Language (ASL).

DANTE: (signs the conference theme).

The video dissolves to Jr. NAD president, Alyssa Hanbury, and vice-president, Frankie Stewart, standing next to the Jr. NAD 2015 Conference poster.

ALYSSA/FRANKIE: That's an awesome theme!

ALYSSA: Totally. That is our very first Jr. NAD Conference theme in American Sign Language (ASL).

FRANKIE: Now, we will explain the four concepts behind the theme. The first concept is "coming together." It means that we - the people - are working together and aiming towards success.

ALYSSA: “Lead” means people who work hard to lead others towards improvement related to their knowledge, roles and surroundings. They become leaders and gain confidence and encourage others to follow.

FRANKIE: “Striving for goals." As you know, we have the passion for advocacy for our rights as deaf people.

ALYSSA: “An eye to the future with goals in mind” asks “is our work done?” No! We still have more work to do in order to meet important goals and to become successful.

FRANKIE: I would like to introduce our conference chairperson for the upcoming Jr. NAD National Conference. This is Jomar.

JOMAR: (signs the conference theme). The State of Florida looks forward to seeing you all soon!

Video fades to a gradient background with dark blue to light blue, a grey National Association of the Deaf (NAD) logo is centered. White text below the logo appears, "A production of the National Association of the Deaf (copyright) 2015 All Rights Reserved" with four teal social media icons, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
